About

Wildeditions is about nature.  Nature is about facts.  Facts are the basis of understanding our natural world.  Combine these elements and you might have a story.  This is what Wildeditons is about – photographs and true-to-life stories that can evolve in front of the camera lens.

Photographs can capture a story the making but it is up to the writer to piece it all together. The saying “fact is more extraordinary than fiction” applies well to our new children’s book, “A Tall Tale but True.”

This book revolves around two birds, black-winged stilts, which very rarely nest in this country.  What happens when these two birds pick out a place to nest and it is 2000 kilometres away from their natural home? There is a moral responsibility of taking care of them.  But how?

There are many fun, colourful maps and scientific diagrams throughout the story that will interest children and adults alike.  Factual animal stories present a more contemporary way to interest young children our natural environment.  Perhaps a story like this one could be a catalyst for some child to want to become the next generation of naturalists.

My interest in bird photography has opened up a window into more of an understanding of how animals live on a day to day basis.  Being involved in the natural world is also about the sea.  I try to surf as often as possible.
